Research profile of faculty
The Faculty staff conduct research on a wide range of topics in mathematics, computer science, and their applications. Researchers employed at the Faculty lead over a hundred research projects, including several prestigious European Research Council (ERC) grants. In mathematics, the most popular research areas include probability theory, analysis and partial differential equations, algebraic geometry, topology, and biomathematics. In computer science, the largest research groups focus on algorithms, logic and automata theory, bioinformatics, and algorithmic game theory.

Teaching profile of faculty
The Faculty offers top-quality education in mathematics, computer science, bioinformatics, systems biology, and machine learning. Our mathematics and computer science programs consistently rank first in Poland and hold the prestigious “Excellent Program” certificates awarded by the Polish Accreditation Committee. Around 100 PhD students of the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences carry out their research under the supervision of the Faculty’s staff.
