COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics, with the consent of the Rector of the University of Warsaw, announces a competition for the position of a professor assistant (F/M).

Form of employment and length of working time (proportionally to full-time employment): Full-time employment under a fixed-term employment contract
Expected date of commencement of work and employment period: 1 October 2026 or 1 February 2027. The contract is for a four-year period. After the final year of employment, if the employee receives a positive assessment, the contract may be extended for an indefinite period.
Remuneration
Basic salary: PLN 8,941 gross per month, increased by a seniority allowance (1% for each documented year of service in accordance with applicable regulations) and a 13th-month salary. In justified cases, in particular for the most scientifically active individuals, the salary may be additionally increased by 10–40% in accordance with the Remuneration Regulations of the University of Warsaw.

Basic responsibilities and obligations
The employed person may participate in scientific research in Computer Science and will be responsible for teaching (360 teaching hours per academic year).

Conditions for entering the competition
- Fulfilment of the requirements set out in Article 113 of the Act – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, consolidated text);
- a doctoral degree in computer science or a related discipline;
- high teaching competence, confirmed in particular by the results of student evaluations or distinctions and awards for teaching activity;
- teaching experience and readiness to undertake organisational activities related to teaching;
- high teaching competence;
- ability to conduct teaching activities in the Polish language.

Criteria for the assessment of candidates in a competition
● Experience. Number of courses and diversity in terms of topics, forms (lectures, laboratories, exercises, seminars, coordination of large courses), assessed based on a presented list of conducted classes including: course title, number of teaching hours, type of class (lecture, exercises, laboratory, etc.), academic year; in the case of jointly conducted classes, this should be indicated.
● Quality. Awards and distinctions. Results of student surveys, class observations, and evaluations. Quality of a sample class presented during the interview.
● Innovations and Materials. Implementation of new methods, tools, content, and curricula. Authorship or co-authorship of textbooks and other teaching materials.
● Mission. Popularisation activities. Dissemination of teaching knowledge among educators, projects and initiatives within the idea of lifelong learning, activity in teaching organisations, organisation and participation in teaching conferences. Coordination of educational projects and engaging students in scientific projects. Conducting classes for gifted youth and students, involvement in the organisation of olympiads.
● Languages. Proficiency in Polish should be sufficient for conducting classes and communicating with students.
● Scientific Activity. Publications, grants, internships, and awards.

Stages of competition
The competition consists of the following stages:Stage I - formal evaluation of documents,
Stage II - substantive evaluation on the basis of submitted documents,
Stage III - interview with selected candidates (achievements and future plans presentation (10-minutes), teaching sample (10 minutes), questions form the committee),
Stage IV - final evaluation of competence, experience and scientific achievements,
Stage V - adjudication of the competition and announcement of results.
